Quailhurstwines.com highly recommends that all customers who are ordering wine during hot or cold weather, Mid-West and East Coast, should consider upgrading to Next Day, 2-Day, or 3-Day shipping in order to prevent wine from being damaged by low/high temperatures.
Cold weather - the water contained in wine can and will separate from the alcohol and freeze, causing the cork to release and, in some cases, the bottle to break.
Hot weather - increased pressure in the bottle may cause a similar effect like the cold weather does.
Hot and/or cold temperatures can sometimes cause the wine to spoil.
Quailhurstwines.com is not responsible for any wine damaged in shipping. If you would like further protection, optional insurance can be purchased through the shipping carrier. Please tell us in an email if you would like this optional insurance.
If you prefer, Quailhurstwines.com will hold your wine until conditions are safe enough to ship by ground. Send all customer requests via email.
